Where are you currently selling your vegan product?
If the only place the people can purchase your product is your online store, you’re missing out on a huge potential to boost the reach and sales of your ethical products. The key is diversification.
Listing your ethical products on online marketplaces will enable you to leverage their already established authority to reach your target audience. But not all online marketplaces will be effective for selling your vegan product. It can be tempting to list on as many marketplaces as possible, but that’s not necessarily going to get you the conversions you want.
By choosing to list on a select few high-traffic, online vegan markets, you can get highly targeted eyes on your vegan product. That means you’re much more likely to close a sale than if you list on a more generic marketplace.
Here are our favourite online vegan markets
1. The Vegan Kind
The Vegan Kind is a vegan online supermarket and subscription box that is based in the UK. They are always seeking opportunities to partner with brands representing their core pillars: good for the planet, animals, and humankind. If that sounds like you, then listing your vegan product on The Vegan Kind could be a fantastic opportunity for you.
Not only does The Vegan Kind stock over 5000 vegan and cruelty-free products, but they also run a monthly vegan subscription box service where they feature new brands each month. Currently, over 10000 people in the UK are subscribed to The Vegan Kind subscription box, with more signing up every day. Another fun fact is that their two Instagram feeds currently have a combined total of 291k followers. That’s a huge potential reach for your vegan product.
The Vegan Kind operates primarily in the UK, as they stock lots of chilled and fresh goods. That said, they can ship small orders of non-perishable products to some international countries. They currently do not ship subscription boxes internationally.
One thing to note is that they do only list UK products, but if you’re a UK-based vegan brand, then you’ll definitely want to get in touch with their buying team.
2. GTFO It’s Vegan
GTFO It’s Vegan (yes, you know precisely what this stands for) is an online vegan market that focuses on making vegan products accessible to conscious non-vegans. They are on a mission to show the world that you don’t have to sacrifice quality or taste to live a more eco-friendly existence.
GTFO It’s Vegan only ships within the United States, but they list products from all over the globe. They’re a great option if your business is in another country by you want to tap into the American market.
Another thing to note is that they are an online vegan food retailer; therefore, they only list food products, including beverages and pet foods. We would recommend filling out their “Add a product” form if your vegan brand fits into the categories of vegan meat/dairy alternatives or prepared foods.
3. Vegan Store
Veganstore.co.uk is a UK-based online vegan marketplace that basically pioneered online vegan retail when it launched in 2000. They are now one of the UK’s top vegan product sellers, with over 600 vegan options available online. Although they are UK-based, they sell vegan products from suppliers worldwide, so even if you’re in the United States, you can still list your items with them. They also ship worldwide, meaning you’ll have access to a global market of vegans!
Because they have been around for so long, they have built up a substantial database of vegan products, making them a one-stop-shop for vegan buyers. Vegan Store lists everything from vegan egg replacers to ethical insect repellent and everything in between. As long as your product is ethical and vegan, you’re a shoo-in for the platform.
They also feature the products they sell on their social media, tagging the supplier, AND send out vegan product features in their newsletter. So, you’re essentially getting free marketing! To inquire about getting your product listed on Vegan Store, contact their sales team.
4. The Vegan Warehouse
If your vegan, ethical product doesn’t fit in the food and beverage category, there are marketplaces like The Vegan Warehouse that are curated with you in mind. The Vegan Warehouse is a US-based online retailer of vegan lifestyle, beauty, and fashion merchandise.
They sell jewellery, accessories, handbags, makeup, hair care, and body care that is ethically and sustainably made. And that, of course, is vegan. If you’re a vegan entrepreneur with a product that fits into those categories, you can take advantage of their over 55k followers on social media and their already devoted customers.
They list products from global retailers but currently only ship to the United States and Canada. If you’re interested in selling your product on The Vegan Warehouse, you can apply here.
5. Vegan Black Market
The last online vegan market we want to feature is Vegan Black Market because they list ALL types of vegan, ethical products. They are a convenient option for vegan buyers in the United States and aim to offer ethical products that are often hard for vegans to find (hence the black market thing). It can be hard for Americans living in small towns to find meat, egg, and cheese alternatives in their local supermarkets. Although they online delivery to American addresses, they’re happy to list global products.
Vegan Black Market lists vegan apparel and accessories, kitchen and home products, personal care products for adults and kids, vitamins and supplements, food and beverage, and pet care. Vegans can order literally everything they need in one place and have it all delivered directly to their door.
If you want to have your product listed on Vegan Black Market alongside successful vegan brands like Gardein and Beyond Meat, you can fill out their online form here.
